Keep your next prompts in the notch.

GoodPrompts for Mac keeps prompts you’re not ready to send, in the notch or the menu bar. Paste one in, or let your agent add it. Copy it when you’re ready.

In the notch or the menu bar

It opens over the app you’re in, even one in full screen, and puts you back when it closes.

  • The notch

Up next opens out of the camera housing. Hover to see the first three titles, or click to see the cards.

  • Displays without a notch

Up next opens out of a slim lip at the top of the screen.

  • Or the menu bar

Choose “Turn off the notch” in the … menu, and a menu bar icon opens Up next instead, with a count beside it.

  • Control-Command-Space, from any app

It replaces the macOS Emoji & Symbols shortcut while GoodPrompts runs. You can change it in the … menu.

Let your agents add prompts

Agents that can run commands, such as Claude Code or Codex, add prompts with upnext, a command inside the app.

What an agent can do

  • Add a prompt with a title, kept exactly as written.
  • Say which tool added it, and for which repository.
  • Ask how many prompts are waiting.

What it can’t do

  • List or read your prompts. No command shows them.
  • Copy, paste, or press a key for you.

Read before you copy

An agent’s prompt says “New from Claude Code” until you open it. The first click or Return opens it in full; only the next one copies it.

So you know what you’re pasting before it reaches another tool.

The notch lights up

When an agent adds a prompt while the notch is closed, a blue line traces its edge, and a dot stays until you open it. In the menu bar, the icon gets the dot.

Set it up from “Agent setup…” in the … menu: put upnext on your PATH, then add a few lines to CLAUDE.md or AGENTS.md.

If your agent runs in a sandbox, Agent setup also shows the rule to add for Claude Code and Codex.

The details

  • Stored on your Mac

No account, no sign-in, and no sync. It doesn’t connect to GoodPrompts, so your Saved prompts aren’t in it.

  • Never reads your clipboard

It writes to it only when you copy something.

  • Never types or pastes

You paste it yourself, so it doesn’t ask to control your Mac.

  • Apple silicon Macs

macOS 13.3 or later. It doesn’t run on Intel Macs or Windows.
